This to Shall Pass…

I’ve been wanting to write something about Prop 8 but haven’t been able to find the words. The passage of Prop 8 has bothered me, but I haven’t yelled, complained, or vented. I have just watched, listened, and found comfort knowing that this too shall pass and Prop 8 will eventually be overturned. [...]

Meditation

According to Wikipedia, meditation is a mental discipline by which one attempts to get beyond the conditioned, “thinking” mind into a deeper state of relaxation or awareness.

This image by Jana Vanourkova got me thinking about everything we say and everything we do and how it has an effect on the universe. We all have a ripple effect. Think about yours…

The Greater Good

Lately, quite a few people have asked me who I am voting for this election. My answer is relatively simple. I am aware that both Republicans and Democrats are politicians and have a tendency to lie, cheat, and mislead, or that they are wrapped up in a never-ending cycle of misunderstood “power,” greed, classism, racism, [...]

I Am Beginning Not To Care Anymore

As I become more aware of the present moment and who I am in that moment, I realize that I am not who I thought I was.  The more aware I become of my thoughts and feelings (my mind) , the more everything seems to mean nothing.  The more I remain in the here and [...]
